Wilec’s enameled and covered conductor facility, producing product under the Transwire brand, was founded in 1975 and is today the largest manufacturer of enameled magnet wire, rectangular and shaped conductor products in South Africa. The company utilises modern production facilities and up to date testing equipment to ensure that the quality of the outgoing product remains of the highest standard. The facility has been SABS ISO certified since 1988, and also holds and maintains accredited Health and Safety systems. Wilec’s products are manufactured using the highest quality conductors and raw materials, and our quality is continually benchmarked against the best of international practice. Our markets in Africa include the automotive, electric motor and transformer manufacture and repair industries.
